Description
Small, pear-shaped jar without a neckl but edged with a flared lip. The clay is coarse with a good portion of calcareous clay and a high percentage of various kinds of temper (chaff temper, mica, quartz and ground minerals). The vessel appears to have been covered with a yellow-beige slip that was vertically burnished with a hard tool. The firing is uneven: the vessel bears black patches caused by the piling up of ceramics in the kiln.
