This vase was placed near the feet of the deceased, within its coffin which was stored along with others in a rock-cut tomb at Mirgissa/Iken. The globular body, with a wide, short neck and a convex, flared lip are characteristic of this period. The clay is relatively coarse, red with a black cross-section, and was covered by a brick-red slip that has mostly disappeared.
