This wooden board was part of a mummy which was found during the excavations of W. F. Petrie at Hawara. Since its dissection which was necessary for a radiographic examination performed in 1970, the mummy does not exist anymore. The board shows the portrait of a woman framed by a gilded braid with embedded green glass beads, of the same type as those of the necklace which the person wears around the neck. The piece probably dates from the 2nd century of our time.
