This attractive alabaster vase dates from either the Protodynastic Period or the very first dynasties. On each side, at the height of its maximum diameter, it is decorated with a motif representing a handle. The holes pierced through the two handles probably were intended for suspending the vase, which may have contained oils and perfumed cosmetics.
