Description
Necklace of alternating tubular and disc beads with a winged scarab pendant. The scarab or dung beetle was seen as an earthly echo of the sun-god, moving as a disk across the sky, and therefore became a symbol of daily rebirth.

Halssnoer van afwisselend pijp- en schotelvormige kralen met een gevleugelde scarabee als hanger. De scarabee of mestkever werd beschouwd als een aardse weergave van de zonnegod die als schijf langs de hemel bewoog. Het werd daarom symbool van de dagelijkse wedergeboorte.
Collier alternant perles tubulaires et discoïdes, comportant un pendentif représentant un scarabée ailé. Le scarabée ou bousier était considéré comme une forme terrestre du dieu-soleil, disque qui traversait le ciel. Pour cette raison, cet insecte symbolisait la régénération quotidienne.
Halsschmuck mit abwechselnden Röhren- und Scheibenperlen und einem geflügelten Skarabäus als Anhänger. Der Skarabäus oder Mistkäfer galt als irdisches Echo des Sonnengottes, der sich als Scheibe über den Himmel bewegte, und wurde so zu einem Symbol der täglichen Wiedergeburt.
