Fragment from a richly painted cartonnage mummy-case of the 3rd Intermediate Period, for a member of the elite at Thebes named Ankhkhons. To the right stands a jackal-headed deity, probably Anubis, god of mummification, holding the sceptre of power and four ankh- signs of life. The column of hieroglyphs to the left reads: '...the rays of the sun-disc, may he (i.e. Ankhkhons) see Ra in his rising, Atum in [his] setting'.
