Description
A glazed staetite scarab mounted on a bronze shank. Traces of the green glaze remain. On the underside of the well-modelled scarab is a scene depicting a seated ape and uraeus, both facing right.

Geglazuurde scarabee van steatiet die op een bronzen oog is gemonteerd. Er zijn nog sporen te zien van groen glazuur. Op de onderkant van de fraai gemodelleerde scarabee is de afbeelding van een aap en een uraeus te zien, die beide met de kop naar rechts zitten.
Scarabée en stéatite émaillée sur une monture en bronze. Des traces de glaçure verte subsistent. Le scarabée est habilement modelé. Sa face inférieure comporte une scène représentant un singe assis et un uraeus tournés vers la droite.
Ein glasierter Steatitskarabäus, der in einen Bronzering gefaßt ist. Es sind noch Reste der grünen Glasur vorhanden. Die Unterseite des gut modellierten Skarabäus zeigt einen sitzenden Affen und einen Uräus, die beide nach rechts gewandt sind.
Scarabeo in steatite invetriata montato su gambo di bronzo. Rimangono tracce di invetriatura verde. Sulla parte inferiore dello scarabeo ben modellato vi è una scena che rappresenta una scimmia seduta ed un ureo, rivolti entrambi verso destra.
Escaravelho em esteatite vidrada, armado em haste de bronze. Apresenta vestígios de vidrado verde. Na base inferior do escaravelho, excelentemente modelado, surge representaçao de macaco sentado e de ureus, ambos voltados para o lado direito.
Un escarabeo de esteatita bordada vidriada montado sobre un mango de bronce; quedan restos de vidriado verde. En la cara de abajo, este bien modelado escarabeo lleva una escena con un mono sentado y un uraeus que se miran.

The ring was discovered at Abydos during the Egypt Exploration Society excavations carried out in 1925-6. It came into the Liverpool collection as part of a purchase made from the Castle Museum, Norwich, in 1956.
