Description
A small brown scarab, finely carved and mounted on a modern gold ring setting. On the underside of the scarab are hieroglyphs. It was probably a seal belonging to a private person.

Kleine bruine scarabee, fijn uitgesneden en gezet in een moderne gouden ring. Onderop de scarabee staan hiërogliefen. waarschijnlijk gaat het hier om iemands privé-zegel.
Petit scarabée brun, délicatement sculpté et monté sur un anneau d'or moderne. La face inférieure du coléoptère comporte des hiéroglyphes. Il s'agit probablement d'un sceau appartenant à une personne privée.
Ein kleiner brauner, fein gearbeiteter Skarabäus, der in einen modernen Goldring gefaßt ist. Auf der Unterseite des Skarabäus befinden sich Hieroglyphen. Wahrscheinlich handelt es sich um ein Siegel aus dem Besitz einer Privatperson.
Piccolo scarabeo di colore marrone, finemente intagliato e montato su un anello d'oro moderno. Sulla parte esterna dello scarabeo vi sono dei geroglifici. Probabilmente era un sigillo che apparteneva ad una persona privata.
Escaravelho pequeno e castanho, minuciosamente esculpido e montado sobre armadura, em ouro, moderna. Na base inferior do escaravelho estao hieróglifos. Trata-se, provávelmente, de selo de pessoa particular.
Pequeño escarabeo marrón, magníficamente tallado y montado en un anillo de oro moderno. En la parte de abajo del escarabeo hay jeroglíficos. Probablemente perteneció a alguna persona corriente.

The ring originally belonged to the author Sir H. Rider Haggard, who bequeathed it to the Castle Museum, Norwich. Liverpool Museum purchased a large part of this collection in 1956.

Material: The scarab is an unidentified brown material. Preservation: The beaded mount, swivel shank and gold wire are all modern settings.
