Description
The statue of Asclepius, Roman god of healing and medicine, is sculpted in less than human size. He is portrayed as standing, slightly turned to the right, with a full face and naked chest. The snake of Asclepius stands beside his right leg. Asclepius has a mustache and a beard. He wears the Greek himation, a rectangular cloth draped over the left shoulder and about the body. His hair is curly and his eyebrows are depicted very high, giving the god of healing more spiritual power.
