Description
A slab of marble that was used as a tombstone, it is inscribed with six lines of Coptic script. At the top there is a cross, the name of the deceased, and some supplications. The tombstone formed a link between the deceased and the world he or she had left behind. Several hundred pieces like this have been discovered, inscribed either in Coptic or in Greek.

Une plaque en marbre utilisée comme pierre tombale, inscrite de six lignes de scripte copte. Sur la partie supérieure, on note une croix, le nom du défunt ainsi que certaines supplications. Les pierres tombales formaient des liens entres le défunt et le monde laissée derrière lui. Des centaines de pièces semblables ont été retrouvées, ornées d'inscriptions coptes ou grecques.
لوحة من الرخام إستخدمت كشاهد قبر، يوجد عليها كتابات قبطية من ستة سطور، تبدأ بصليب ثم إسم المتوفى وبعض التضرعات. ويعتبر هذا الشاهد هو وسيلة إتصال بين المتوفى والعالم الذى رحل عنه. وقد إكتشف عدة مئات منها مكتوبة بالقبطية أو اليونانية
