Description
The mummy's organs were preserved in four canopic jars, the stoppers of which were adorned with different heads. The human head was Imsety; who protected the liver. The baboon head was Hapi, who was responsible for the lungs. The jackal's head was Duamutef, who was guardian of the stomach. Finally the intestines were kept in the jar with the falcon-headed genie called Qebehsenuef. These four genies of the stoppers were the four sons of Horus. The two stoppers exhibited here bear the heads of the baboon and the jackal
