This wooden object, which was purchased at Luxor, constitutes a comb of which the upper part depicts a locust. The insect, which had, according to the Egyptians, curative forces, was above all an animal symbolising weakness and destruction. The piece, which is intact, dates from the New Kingdom.

Dit houten voorwerp, gekocht in Luxor, is een kam waarvan het bovenste deel een sprinkhaan voorstelt. Het insect dat, volgens de Egyptenaren, genezende krachten had, was bovenal een dier dat zwakte en vernietiging symboliseerde. Het stuk, dat intact is, dateert uit het Nieuwe Rijk.
Cet objet en bois, qui a été acheté à Louqsor, constitue un peigne dont la partie supérieure représente une sauterelle. L'insecte, qui avait, selon les Égyptiens, des forces curatives, était avant tout un animal symbolisant la faiblesse et la destruction. La pièce, qui est intacte, date du Nouvel Empire.
