Winged scarab

2016.jpg

A large, very schematic winged scarab of dark green faience. Around the edges eight holes have been bored, meant for affixing the now lost wings. The underside depicts two circles containing concentric circles and incised Greek (?) signs.
Winged scarabs were originally fixed to the bead nets of mummies.
