A scarab of glazed steatite, inscribed on the bottom with eight horizontal lines of hieroglyphs. Beneath the legs on both sides is a cartouche bearing the king's prenomen or 'nsw-bjty' name, 'Nebmaatre'. Scarabs were made of all types of material including faience, carnelian and amethyst as well as steatite. They were inscribed with personal names and titles, patterns and good luck signs. Scarabs were also used to commemorate special events, Amenhotep III issued several sets, to commemorate his marriages to Tiye and Gilukhepa, wild lion and bull hunts and the construction of a pleasure lake for Tiye.

May Horus live, Strong Bull, who rises in truth,of the Two Ladies, the one who establishes laws and who makes the Two Lands peaceful. Golden Horus, great of strong arm, who smites the Asiatics, the king of Upper Egpyt and Lower Egypt, Nebmaatre, son of Re, Amenhotep, Ruler of Thebes, given life.
Great King's wife, Tiye, may she live.
The number of lions which his majesty brought from his own shooting, beginning from Year 1 down to Year 10 - total of lions, 102.
