Description
An appliqué depicting the Ba-bird, shown full-face, with outstretched wings and legs in relief upon the belly. It was probably used as an amulet to be inserted between the bandages of a mummy to protect the Ba of the deceased.

Applicatie, die de Ba-vogel, in vooraanzicht, met uitgespreide vleugels en gespreide poten die op de buik in reliëf zijn aangegeven, voorstelt. De applicatie is waarschijnlijk als amulet gebruikt, die, ingevoegd tussen de mummiewindsels, ertoe diende de Ba van de overledene te beschermen.
Applique représentant l'oiseau-Ba, vu de face, aux ailes déployées et aux pattes rendues en relief sur le ventre. Cet objet était probablement une amulette destinée à être insérée entre les bandelettes de la momie pour protéger le Ba du défunt.
Applikation, die den Ba-Vogel in Frontalansicht mit ausgebreiteten Flügeln und Beinen darstellt, letztere sind am Bauch in Relief wiedergegeben. Die Applikation ist wahrscheinlich als Amulett verwendet worden, das zwischen die Mumienbinden eingefügt dazu diente, den Ba des Verstorbenen zu schützen.
Applicazione raffigurante l'uccello Ba in visione frontale, con ali spiegate e zampe eseguite in rilievo sul ventre. L'applicazione fu probabilmente usata come amuleto, destinato ad essere inserito fra le bende di una mummia, per proteggere il Ba del defunto.
