Empreinte de sceau appliqué sur papyrus. La cordelette qui liait le rouleau de papyrus était entourée d'une boule de terre sigillaire sur laquelle on appliquait le sceau. Les fonctionnaires les plus importants qui occupaient des charges administratives y faisaient graver leur titre et leur nom. L'inscription, comme souvent, est entourée d'une spirale.

Seal impression applied on papyrus. The cord which bound a papyrus roll was covered with a terra sigillata ball into which one applied the seal. The most important civil servants who occupied of the administrative positions had their engraved name and titles applied on them. The inscription, like often, is surrounded by a spiral.
