The Global Egyptian Museum

The beads of this necklace were found in situ around the neck of a child's skeleton, buried alone in an intact tomb.  The child wore several necklaces as well as a bracelet of elephant hair on the right wrist and had several scarabs.  This piece of jewellery is composed of three disc-shaped carnelian beads (unique in the middle) separated by five to seven disc-shaped beads of bright blue or dark blue enamel. The two extremities are composed solely of enamel beads, most likely from Egypt given their colour and their quality. The carnelian came from desert pebbles.

Les perles de ce collier ont été découvertes encore en place, au cou d'un squelette d'enfant, enterré seul dans une tombe trouvée intacte. Il portait plusieurs colliers ainsi qu'un bracelet en poil d'éléphant au poignet droit et quelques scarabées. Le bijou associe dans la partie centrale perles discoïdes de cornaline par trois (unique au centre) séparées par cinq à sept perles discoïdes de pâte émaillée bleu vif ou bleu foncé. Les deux extrémités ne sont composées que de perles de pâte émaillée, vraisemblablement d'origine égyptienne, étant donné leur couleur et leur qualité, tandis que la cornaline était fournie par les galets du désert.
