In de periode direct voorafgaand aan Achnaton zijn er al parallellen voor de hoge status en de positie van vrouwen in de Amarna-periode. De echtgenote van Amenhotep III, Teje, is op vele manieren veel zichtbaarder dan haar voorgangsters. Op deze kleine scarabee wordt ze samen met haar echtgenoot genoemd.

La période précédant immédiatement le règne d'Akhénaton nous offre déjà des exemples du haut statut et de la meilleure position des femmes dans la société égyptienne, comme ce fut le cas pendant la Période Amarnienne. L'épouse d'Amenhotep III, Tiy, a été, de diverses manières, beaucoup plus présente que ses prédécesseurs. Sur ce petit scarabée, elle est mentionnée à côté de son époux.

Für die herausragende Stellung der Frau in der Amarna-Zeit gibt es bereits aus der Zeit unmittelbar vor Echnaton Parallelen. Die Gattin Amenophis' III., Teje, steht in vieler Hinsicht mehr im Rampenlicht als ihre Vorgängerinnen. Auf diesem Skarabäus kleineren Formats wird sie gemeinsam mit ihrem Gemahl genannt.

La sposa di Amenofi III, Tiy, è sotto molti aspetti assai più in vista di quelle che la precedettero. Su questo piccolo scarabeo Tiy è menzionata insieme a suo marito.
