Description
A faience handle, possibly from a sistrum or mirror, of a greenish coloured glaze. The handle is inscribed with a single vertical column of hieroglyphs on each side. Unfortunately the inscription is incomplete on one side and only the 'nsw bjty' title and upper part of the cartouche survives (see Text comment in Advanced Mode/Textual Data).

General Comment
Provenance: Ancient Meroe. Site: Ancient Meroe. Preservation: The handle is cracked and a small part on one side is missing. Text comment: The cartouche is possibly that of King Aspelta.
