Object''s History
During 1905-1906 excavations at Hierakonpolis were carried out by John Garstang and Harold Jones, working on behalf of the University of Liverpool. They dug in the area of the town and temple of Nekhen and also in a Predynastic-Protodynastic cemetery. A division of the finds was given to a group of businessmen in Liverpool, sponsors of the excavations, who presented the material to the Museum.
