Description
Double-sided comb of wood, with wider-spaced teeth on one side, imperfectly preserved. The Romans introduced into Egypt the fashionable practice of wearing combs as part of elaborate hairstyles. This example comes from el-Rubiyat, where many fine portrait panels were found on mummified bodies of the first centuries AD.

Tweezijdige houten kam, met de tanden aan een zijde verder uit elkaar, niet geheel bewaard gebleven. De Romeinen introduceerden de modieuze praktijk om kammen te dragen als onderdeel van ingewikkelde kapsels. Dit exemplaar komt uit el-Roebiyat, waar vele fraaie portretten zijn gevonden op gemummificeerde lichamen uit de eerste eeuwen na Christus.
Double peigne en bois, imparfaitement conservé. D'un côté, l'espace entre les dents est plus large. Les Romains ont introduit, en Égypte, la mode d'incorporer des peignes dans des coiffures élaborées. Cet exemplaire provient de Rubiyat, où de nombreux portraits remarquables ont été découverts sur des momies du premier siècle de notre ère.
Nur teilweise erhaltener doppelseitiger Holzkamm, dessen Zinken auf der einen Seite weiter auseinanderliegen. Die Römer führten die Mode, Kämme als Bestandteil aufwendiger Frisuren zu tragen, nach Ägypten ein. Dieses Exemplar stammt aus el-Rubiyat, wo auf Mumien der ersten Jahrhunderte n. Chr. viele schöne Porträttafeln gefunden wurden.
Pettine di legno a due lati, con i denti disposti su un lato ad una distanza maggiore, conservato parzialmente. I Romani hanno introdotto in Egitto l'uso di indossare pettini come parte di acconciature elaborate. Questo esemplare proviene da el-Rubiyat, dove molti raffinati quadri-ritratto sono stati trovati sui corpi mummificati databili ai primi secoli d.C.

Este ejemplar proviene de el-Rubiyat, donde se encontraron muchos delicados paneles con retratos sobre cuerpos momificados del siglo I d. C.
