Description
Bronze figure of a seated cat, with tangs below for affixing to a pedestal, now lost. The cat is most often found in Late Period depictions of the goddess Bastet. Such bronze images of deities were common votive offerings at shrines of Late Period and Ptolemaic date.

Bronzen figuur van een zittende kat, met tanden aan de onderzijde om op voetstuk, dat thans verloren is gegaan, te bevestigen. De kat wordt meestal aangewend in afbeeldingen van de godin Bastet in de Late Periode. Dergelijke bronzen afbeeldingen van godheden waren algemeen als votiefoffers in schrijnen uit de Late en de Ptolemeïsche Periode.
Figure en bronze d'un chat assis. Elle est munie de soies destinées à la fixer sur un socle aujourd'hui perdu. A Basse Époque, le chat sert le plus souvent à représenter la déesse Bastet. Des statuettes en bronze de divinités constituent des offrandes votives communes dans les sanctuaires de Basse Époque et de la Période Ptolémaïque.
Bronzefigur einer sitzenden Katze; an der Unterseite befinden sich Zapfen zur Befestigung an einem - jetzt verlorenen - Sockel. Die Katze kommt am häufigsten in spätzeitlichen Darstellungen der Göttin Bastet vor. Solche Bronzefiguren von Gottheiten waren übliche Weihgaben an Heiligtümern der Spätzeit oder Ptolemäerzeit.
Figura bronzea di un gatto seduto, con codoli nella parte inferiore per poter essere attaccato ad un piedistallo, ora perduto. Il gatto si trova più frequentemente in rappresentazioni della dea Bastet di Età Tarda. Tali immagini bronzee di divinità sono offerte votive comuni nei templi di Età Tarda e del Periodo Tolemaico.
Figura em bronze de gato sentado com hastes na parte inferior para afixação a pedestal, já perdido. O gato é encontrado com mais frequência em representações da deusa Bastet da Época Baixa. Tais figuras de divindades em bronze eram ofertas votivas comuns em santuários da Época Baixa e do Período Ptolemaico.
