Description
This statue depicts a naked young man called Merire-Hashetef. It was discovered in his tomb at Sedment. He stands on a rectangular base and holds a cane in his left hand and the Sekhem scepter in his right. These were symbols of dignity and power. He wears a curly wig. It appears that each part of this statue was carved separately, and it was then assembled and fixed with wooden pegs.
