Description
These three wooden pen cases have long cavities that were closed with thin wooden lids. On the right-hand edges of the cases, two round depressions were carved. One of them was used to contain black ink, needed to write normal text, while the second depression held the red ink for marking the beginning of a new chapter.

Ces trois étuis à crayons en bois disposent de longues cavités qui étaient fermées par de fins couvercles en bois. Sur les côtés droits des étuis, deux cavités rondes étaient creusées; l'une d'elles servait à contenir l'encre noire pour écrire le texte, alors que la deuxième contenait l'encre rouge pour indiquer le commencement d'un nouveau chapitre.
ثلاثة حوافظ خشبية للأقلام بتجويفات طويلة تغلق بغطاء رقيق. ولقد نحت انخفاضان عند الحافة اليمنى لكل حافظة؛ لكي يستخدم أحدهما لحفظ الحبر الأسود المطلوب لكتابة النصوص العادية، بينما كان الآخر يستخدم لحفظ الحبر الأحمر لتمييز بدايات الفصول الجديدة.
