The Global Egyptian Museum

Dit kleine beeldje in faience is afkomstig uit de Belgische opgravingen van Elkab. Het behoort tot de categorie dierfiguren die gevonden zijn in offer depots van meerdere tempels in Opper-Egypte. Het exemplaar stelt de baviaan-god voor bekend als "de Grote Witte" (Hedj-wer) die vereerd werd vanaf de Protodynastieke Periode.

Cette petite figurine en faïence provient des fouilles belges d'Elkab. Elle fait partie de la catégorie de figurines animales qui ont été retrouvées dans les dépôts d'offrandes de plusieurs temples de la Haute Égypte. L'exemplaire représente le dieu babouin connu comme "le Grand Blanc" (Hedj-wer) et vénéré à partir de
la Période Protodynastique.

Diese kleine Fayencefigur stammt aus den belgischen Grabungen in Elkab. Sie gehört zu einer Kategorie von Tierfiguren, die in Opfergabendepots mehrerer oberägyptischer Tempel gefunden wurden. Das abgebildete Objekt zeigt den Paviangott, der als der "Große Weiße" (Hedj-wer) bekannt ist, der von der Protodynastischen Zeit an verehrt wurde.

Essa fa parte della categoria di figurine animali che sono state ritrovate nei depositi di offerte di numerosi templi dell'Alto Egitto. L'esemplare rappresenta il dio babbuino noto come "il "Grande Bianco " (Hedj-wr) e venerato a partire dall'Epoca Protodinastica.

Faz parte de uma categoria de figuras de animais que foram encontradas em depósitos de oferendas de muitos templos do Alto Egipto. O exemplar representa um deus babuíno conhecido como «O Grande Branco» (Hedj-uer) que foi venerado a partir do Período Proto-Dinástico.

Esta pequeña figurita de fayenza proviene de las excavaciones belgas de Elkab. Forma parte de la categoría de figuritas de animales que fueron encontradas en los depósitos de ofrendas de muchos tempos del Alto Egipto. El ejemplar representa al dioscinocérfalo, conocido como "el Gran blanco" (Hedy-wer), venerado desde la Época Protodinástica.

This small figurine in faience comes from the belgian excavations of Elkab. It was part of the category of animal figurines which was found in the offering deposits of several temples of Upper Egypt. The example represents the baboon god known as "the Great White" (Hedj-wer), who was venerated from the Protodynastic Period onwards.
