Description
This seal was carved in an Upper Egyptian calcareous ceramic sherd, which is yellowish-white in colour. It is oblong in shape and has a groove fashioned out at the narrowest extremity to allow its suspension. The rectangular base is engraved with a geometrical pattern resembling a grid. One of the surfaces was engraved with a diagonal line and polished before any kind of work was undertaken, possibly the mark of the owner (?).
