Description
Small ovoid vase made from a fine calcareous Egyptian clay, pink in colour, rather coarse, containing numerous ground minerals, that has been polished and burnished. The firing conditions were irregular and black patches on the body of the vessel indicate that the ceramic vessels in the kiln was stacked and piled up one against the other. The vessel is ovoid-shaped, neckless and ends in a flared convex lip. The shoulder is decorated with two horizontal lines. This vessel, which is of a type normally placed in Classic Kerma burials, was found at the backside of a skeleton.
