Description
Sherd of a carinated bowl with a wide orifice, made of fine black clay. The oxidised exterior surface is brownish-red. The interior surface and outer rim are black. The surfaces have been very heavily burnished. The decoration, which is present only under the lip, is also very carefully executed. A band of diamonds bordered by hatching was impressed with a roller stamp and is emphasised by a dotted line impressed with a serrated roller. A very good quality vessel that is also typical Old Kerma.
