Description
The goddess Bastet was closely associated with the king from the Old Kingdom onwards. This figure is attached to a bronze pedestal with a tenon. She is dressed in a close-fitting garment with a striped motif. In her left hand she holds an aegis in front of her chest.

De godin Bastet werd al vanaf het Oude Rijk in nauw verband met de koning gebracht. De figuur is bevestigd op een bronzen voetstuk met een uitsteeksel. Ze is gekleed in een nauwsluitend gewaad met een streepmotief. Met haar linker hand houdt ze een aegis voor de borst.
La déesse Bastet a été étroitement associée au roi dès l'Ancien Empire. Elle est fixée sur un socle en bronze au moyen d'un tenon. Elle est vêtue d'une robe à rayures bien ajustée. De la main gauche, elle tient une égide devant sa poitrine.
