Description
The falcon was associated with the god Horus. These sacred birds were therefore often mummified and buried, for example. in a hollow statue of a falcon. The bronze was hollow cast. Feathers, ornate collars and amulets were incised afterwards. Sometimes these fine decorations were inlaid with silver and gold. The rectangular opening underneath the tail was sealed with a made-to-measure plate.
