Description
In the Middle Kingdom, the blue marble, which was quite rare in Egypt, has often been used in the manufacture of cosmetic pots. This small Brussel example which was part of the funerary material from a tomb in Abydos, served as a make up container which was applied with the aid of a short stick. The example which was found in the container dates nevertheless from the New Kingdom. (E.2362).

O presente exemplar data no entanto do Império Novo (E. 2362).
