Description
The stamp end of an inscribed pottery funerary cone. There are five vertical columns of inscription, with dividers. The signs are painted red on a white background, quite faded. Such cones were placed at the entrance to the tomb, probably pushed into the wet plaster above the lintel. The inscribed end was then visible to all who passed.
