In het Oude Egypte was de spiegel niet alleen een toiletartikel, maar ook een symbool van wedergeboorte. Dit exemplaar, verworven in Cairo in 1905, is voorzien van een handvat in de vorm van een papyrusstengel met neerhangend bloemschild. De spiegel dateert uit het Nieuwe Rijk.
