Description
Piriform pottery vessel with rounded base, wide outward flaring mouth and pronounced rim. The upper half of the outer surface is decorated with a white slip, irregularly applied. This jar was placed, presumably with offerings, in a tomb of the early Middle Kingdom at Abydos. Several other pots in this collection are marked as coming from the same tomb, indicating a burial of some wealth.

Peervormige aardewerken kruik met afgeronde basis, wijde uitlopende mond en geprononceerde rand. De bovenste helft van de buitenkant is bedekt met wit slip, dat onregelmatig is aangebracht. Deze kruik was waarschijnlijk met offergaven in een graf uit het vroege Middenrijk te Abydos geplaatst. Diverse andere potten uit deze collectie komen uit hetzelfde graf, suggererend dat dit een tamelijk rijke bijzetting was.
Récipient en terre cuite piriforme, à base arrondie, large ouverture s'évasant vers l'extérieur et lèvre prononcée. La partie supérieure de la surface externe est décorée de bandes blanches irrégulières. Cette jarre a été déposée, vraisemblablement avec des offrandes, dans une tombe du début du Moyen Empire, à Abydos. Dans cette collection, plusieurs autres pots sont enregistrés comme provenant de la même tombe, ce qui indique qu'il s'agit d'une sépulture relativement riche.
Birnenförmiges Tongefäß mit Rundboden, weiter, ausschwingender Mündung und ausgeprägtem Rand. Die oberen Hälfte der Außenseite ist mit einem weißen, unregelmäßig aufgetragenen Überzug dekoriert.
