Description
Finely sculpted serpentine image of Osiris, the god of the dead, shown mummiform, wearing the White Crown, with a long false beard, emblem of divinity, and holding the crook and flagellum to mark his kingship over the dead. Inscriptions on other Late Period examples show that such figures might be offered at shrines as ex-votos. Bronze is usually used to make these figures. Their occurrence in stone is much less common.
