Description
The jar in the shape of a rooster was used to store liquids. The rooster is stretching its neck to sing. Its crest is red and the beak is the opening for pouring out the liquid. The body is decorated with impressions, or marks produced on a surface by pressure. The body has the typical colors for this kind of bird, especially the red. This piece was found in Rakhotis in Alexandria during the Imperial era. The pottery jar is representative of Coptic art with its beauty and simplicity.

A
Cette jarre en forme de coq servait à contenir les liquides. Le coq étire son cou et s'apprête à chanter. Sa crête est rouge; quant à son bec, il fait office d'ouverture d'où s'écoulait le liquide. Décoré d'impressions, ou marques produites sur une surface par pression, le corps de cette jarre est orné des couleurs caractéristiques du coq, en particulier le rouge. Cette jarre fut retrouvée dans le village de Rakhotis à Alexandrie au cours de l'époque impériale. La beauté et la simplicité de cette jarre sont représentatives de l'art copte.
إناء سوائل علي شكل ديك ونري عرف الديك باللون الأحمر ومنقاره مفتوح لصب السوائل. الجسم منقوش برسومات جميلة. كذلك نري الديك يمد رقبته ليصيح، وهو ملون بما يناسب الطائر الداجن خاصة اللون الأحمر. وقد عثر على هذه القطع في راقوده الحي الوطني بالإسكندرية خلال عصر الامبراطورية الرومانية. وهذه القطع الفخارية تمثل جمال وسلاسة الفن القبطي.
