The Global Egyptian Museum

Two plates, for household use, were found at the location of the Alexandria Library during excavations. 

They were found among a huge number of plates and bowls. It is noticeable that they are devoid of any decoration, as were most articles that were used for food. 

They are shaped by casting and vary only in being different colors. They are made of black, red or beige clay.

Ces deux assiettes, à usage domestique, ont été découvertes lors des fouilles sur le site de la Bibliothèque d'Alexandrie.

Elles ont été retrouvées parmi une immense quantité d'assiettes et de bols. Il est intéressant de noter qu'elles ne sont dénuées de tout motif, car la plupart étaient destinées à contenir des aliments. 

Elles ont été moulées, et ne diffèrent que par leurs couleurs. Elles sont en terre cuite noire, rouge ou beige.

ولقد عثر على هذين الطبقين بين مجموعة من الأطباق والسلطانيات. ومن الملاحظ أنهما خاليان من النقوش الزخرفية؛ شأنهما في هذا شأن معظم الأدوات التي كانت تستخدم لأغراض الأطعمة.

والأطباق شكلت بطريقة الصب، وتختلف فقط في اللون. وهي مصنوعة من الطين (الصلصال) الأسود أو الأحمر أو البيج.
