Description
This beautiful phial in yellowish terracotta was part of the G. Hagemans collection. The belly is ornamented by a known motif of Saint Menas as orant, the head surrounded by two crosses, and in the company of two camels resting at his feet. The intact piece dates from the 6th or the 7th century

Deze mooie fles in geelachtige terracotta behoorde tot de collectie G. Hagemans. De buik is versierd met het bekende motief van de biddende Sint-Menas, het hoofd omgeven door twee kruisen, en in het gezelschap van twee kamelen die aan zijn voeten rusten. Het ongeschonden stuk dateert uit de 6e of 7e eeuw.
Cette belle ampoule en terre cuite jaunâtre faisait partie de la collection G. Hagemans. La panse est orné du motif connu de Saint Ménas en orant, la tête entourée de deux croix, et en compagnie de deux chameaux se reposant à ses pieds. La pièce intacte date du VIe ou VIIe siècle.
Diese schöne Ampulle aus gelblicher Terrakotta gehörte zur Sammlung G. Hagemans. Der Körper ist mit dem bekannten Motiv des Heiligen Menas als Oranten mit zwei Kreuzen neben seinem Kopf und zwei Kamelen, die zu seinen Füßen ruhen, verziert. Das intakte Stück datiert in das 6. oder 7. Jhdt.
Questa bella ampolla di terracotta giallastra faceva parte della collezione G. Hagemans. La pancia é ornata dal noto motivo di S. Menas orante, con la testa circondata da due croci, e in compagnia di due cammelli che si riposano ai suoi piedi. Il pezzo intatto data al VI o VII secolo.
Esta bela âmbula de terracota amarelada fazia parte da colecçäo G. Hagemans. A pança está decorada com o bem conhecido tema de Säo Menas em pose de orante, a cabeça ladeada por duas cruzes e em companhia de dois dromedários que repousam a seus pés. A peça data do século VI ou do século VII.
Esta cantimplora de barro cocido amarillento formaba parte de la colección G. Hagemans. La panza está adornada con el conocido motivo de san Menas en oración, con la cabeza rodeada de cruces y en compañía de dos camellos que descansan a sus pies. La pieza, intacta, data del siglo VI o VII.
