Mummy of a Young Woman

ALX-48-3-675_800x800[1].jpg

Five pieces of cartonnage ornament the bandages of this mummy. The first piece forms the gilded mask, on which a multicolored collar appears below the two curls of the tripartite wig.

On the chest, a cartonnage pectoral is decorated with a scarab spreading its wings, which have two falcon heads on the ends.

On the abdomen, a protector goddess spreads her wings and holds the two feathers of Maat. Below the goddess on the same piece of cartonnage, there is a depiction of a lying mummy.

On the legs, there is a column of hieroglyphics in a frame of geometric decoration.

The last piece of cartonnage represents the shape of the feet on top, and the soles of the sandals below.
