Head of a private person's statue

125a.jpg
125b.jpg 125c.jpg

The head has broken off at the neck from a larger statue. The facial features are strongly emphasized. The eyes are narrow and slightly bulging, the nose is rather long, the lips are thin and tight. The ears, however, are slightly too big. The face has an energetic expression and a certain amount of individuality. The wig is smooth and must have been of the "bag"-type, characteristic of the Saite Period. The head has been smoothly polished.
