Très joli scarabée découvert sous l'épaule droite du défunt d'une des tombes les plus riches du cimetière Kerma de Mirgissa/Iken. Il ne comporte que quelques détails anatomiques, la tête, le clypeus, les pattes. Le prothorax est indiqué par deux incisions latérales et le dos porte deux lignes hachurées obliques. Le plat porte l'inscription Neboukheperrê, entourée de cercles concentriques, soit le nom du roi Intef V, le premier pharaon de la XVIIème Dynastie. Le scarabée est serti dans une monture en argent dont le pourtour est gravé d'un motif en forme de tresse et qui devait être monté en bague-sceau.

Lovely little scarab found under the right shoulder of the deceased in one of the richest tombs of the Kerma cemetery of Mirgissa/Iken. Only a few anatomical details are represented: the head, the clypeus and the legs. The prothorax is indicated by two lateral incisions and the back bears two hatched diagonal lines. The flat surface is inscribed with Nebukheperre, the name of king Antef V, the first pharaoh of the 17th Dynasty, surrounded by a pattern of concentric circles. The scarab is set in a silver frame, whose contour is carved with a braided motif, which could have been mounted on to a signet ring.
