Description
Like numerous other flint artefacts found on the same site, this lovely bifacial knife blade, whose very high degree of finish is an indication of remarkable stone cutting skill, dates to the 13th Dynasty. It indicates that at the end of the Middle Kingdom, the Egyptians still widely used stone tools and weapons even though they knew about bronze for a long time. The flint used here is not a local stone, most probably it came from the Theban region.
