Description
Large vat made from common, pink-orange clay (Nile mud and organic temper). This vessel is the largest piece of pootery unearthed in this cemetery. It has a flat base, a convex body and a wide mouth ending in a convex beaded lip. The vessel was decorated with a single appliqué motif, located just below the lip and surrounded by an incised circle. The polish was carefully applied, but did not erase the marks of the string used during the process of throwing.
