Description
Jar, typical of Egyptian production during the New Kingdom, which was unearthed in a necropolis of modest tombs dating to the early New Kingdom. The clay is typical of such Egyptian productions: wheel-made, polished and fully oxidised, which gives it an orange colour. Its shape is also well known: biconical with a rounded base, short neck and convex lip. Because of its size, the vessel was placed on the coffin.
