Description
This small figurine in faience takes the form of an infant dwarf. Also called Pataikos, a designation given by Herodotus, this divinity is characterised by his apotropaic function. He was thus associated with the gods Bes, Harpocrates and Ptah. The reverse of the amulet is provided with a hole for suspension.

Dit kleine beeldje in faience heeft de vorm van een dwergkind. Ook pataikos genaamd, een benaming die door Herodotus gegeven is, wordt deze godheid gekenmerkt door zijn apotropaeische functie. Zo was hij ook verbonden met de goden Bes, Harpocrates en Ptah. De keerzijde van de amulet is voorzien van een gaatje voor het ophangen.
Cette petite figurine en faïence prend la forme d'un enfant nain. Également nommé patèque, une désignation donnée par Hérodote, cette divinité se caractérise par sa fonction apotropaïque. Il était ainsi associé au dieux Bès, Harpocrate et Ptah. Le revers de l'amulette est muni d'un trou de suspension.
Diese kleine Figurine aus Fayence hat die Gestalt eines zwergenhaften Kindes. Dieser Gott, der nach Herodot als Patäke bezeichnet wird, hat apotropäische Funktion . Daher wurde er an die Götter Bes, Harpokrates und Ptah angeglichen. Die Rückseite des Amulettes ist mit einer Öse versehen.

Egli era pure associato agli dei Bes, Harpocrate e Ptah. Il rovescio dell'amuleto é munito di un foro di sospensione.
Esta pequena figurinha de faiança representa um anäo, ao qual habitualmente se dá o <!-->nome de pateco, forma que foi concebida por Heródoto. Trata-se de uma divindade que se caracteriza por ter funçöes apotropaicas, estando associado aos deuses Bes, Harpócrates e Ptah. Na parte de trás do amuleto está um orifício de suspensäo.
