Description
This necklace, which was worn around the neck by a six-month old baby, is comprised of five pendants shaped in the likeness of shells: two made of two welded pieces of electrum, two made of an engraved opaque red stone and one made of gabbro, together with fifteen ring-shaped beads made from gabbro and decreasing in size. Gabbro is a material favoured by Nubians, but the pendants are undeniably of Egyptian manufacture.
