Description
Very wide ovoid jar with a curved neck and a flat lip, which is adorned with four (or five?) protuberances. The clay is orange and coarse (Nile clay and organic temper) and has been polished. The impression of the potter's rope is still visible around the equatorial diametre of the vessel. The neck is decorated with incised lines, both straight and wavy. A potter's mark was incised on the inside of the neck before firing; it resembles a nefer sign. (''beautiful, good, perfect'').
