Description
Linen was manufactured on horizontal looms. In the New Kingdom the vertical loom became more popular, as is shown in several tomb paintings. Weaving cards and loom weights have survived down to the present day.

Linnen werd geweven op horizontale weefgetouwen. In het Nieuwe Rijk werd het verticale weefgetouw populair, zoals in verschillende grafschilderingen is afgebeeld. Weefkammen en weefgewichten zijn bewaard gebleven.
Le lin était tissé sur des métiers horizontaux. Au Nouvel Empire, les métiers à tisser verticaux devinrent plus fréquents, comme le montrent plusieurs peintures funéraires. Des peignes et des poids à tisser sont conservés dans différentes collections.
