Description
Originally, the god Imhotep was high priest of Heliopolis and architect of King Djoser, for whom he built the famous step pyramid of Saqqara. Already in the early history of Egypt he was revered as a sage. This figure is depicted sitting. On his knees is a papyrus roll with texts on it.

Oorspronkelijk was de god Imhotep hogepriester van Heliopolis en de architect van koning Djoser, voor wie hij de beroemde trappiramide in Saqqara bouwde. Al vroeg in de geschiedenis van Egypte werd hij vereerd als een wijze, die hier zittend is afgebeeld. Op zijn knieën ligt een papyrusrol met teksten.
Originellement, le dieu Imhotep était le grand prêtre d'Héliopolis et l'architecte du roi Djéser, pour qui il érigea la célèbre pyramide à degrés de Saqqara. Dès les premiers temps de l'histoire égyptienne, il fut vénéré comme un sage. Il est représenté assis avec, sur les genoux, un rouleau de papyrus inscrit.
Ursprünglich war der Gott Imhotep Hoherpriester von Heliopolis und Baumeister des Königs Djoser, für den er die berühmte Stufenpyramide von Saqqara errichtete. Schon seit ältester Zeit galt er auch als einer der ägyptischen Weisen. Die Figur ist sitzend dargestellt. Auf seinen Knien liegt eine Papyrusrolle mit einer Inschrift.
Originariamente il dio Imhotep era un alto sacerdote di Heliopolis e architetto del re Djeser, per il quale costruì la famosa piramide a gradini di Saqqara. Già nella storia più antica dell'Egitto egli era venerato come un saggio. Qui Imhotep è raffigurato seduto. Sulle sue ginocchia vi è un rotolo di papiro con iscrizione.
Originalmente o deus Imhotep era o sumo-sacerdote de Heliópolis e arquitecto do faraó Djoser, para quem erigiu a famosa Pirâmide dos Degraus em Sakara. Já cedo na história do Egipto, era reverado como um sábio, aqui mostrado sentado. Nos joelhos tem o rolo de papiro com textos.
