Description
"Holy one of Kadesh" was originally a title of Ishtar, the Babylonian-Akkadian goddess. She was the embodiment of woman in all her many aspects: caring mother goddess, young female warrior and figure of menacing sexuality. As the Egyptian goddess Kadesh she rode a lion whilst nude, holding snakes and lotuses in her hands. On this stela she is wearing the head-dress of the Egyptian goddess Hathor. She is flanked by the gods Min and Reshef.
